αργότερα συνεργάζεται με διάφορους gangsta rappers συμμετέχοντας σε πολλά compilations και σε ένα soundtrack της ταινίας banlieue 13 με το δυναμικό τραγούδι "resistant"

με ένα album στο ενεργητικό του μέχρι τώρα συνεχίζει να προκαλεί και να σαρκάζει την κοινωνία με έξυπνους στίχους και σκληρό rnb

rapper συνθέτης keith elam γνωστός πια ως guru ξεκίνησε την καριέρα του απο τους gangstarr παρέα με τον dj premier συνδιάζοντας την fusejazz με στοιχεία rap.

μετά απο τρία album αποφάσισε να κάνει solo καριέρα και το 1989 έρχεται το "no more mr nice guy" το 1991 "step in the arena" το 1992 "daily operation".

το 1993 αρχίζει η εποχή του "jazzmatazz vol 1" ενα album compilation που πέρα απο τον ίδιο συμετέχουν και άλλοι "μεγάλοι" της εποχής όπως roy ayers , donald byrd , brand new heavis , n'dea davenport.

ακολουθούν και άλλα "jazzmatazz" μέχρι τις μέρες μας , κυκλοφορεί το vol 4 ήδη με τις συμετοχές των damian marley , mc solaar , caron wheeler ...

jazz fusion ήχοι , dub ατμόσφαιρα αυτός είναι ο guru ... καλή συνέχεια λοιπόν guru.

Το τραγούδι λέγεται "Hurt"

Το έχει γράψει ο Trent Reznor από ένα μουσικό συγκρότημα που λέγεται nine inch nails. Το έγραψε για τη προσωπική του παρακμή με τα ναρκωτικά.

Το διασκεύασε ο Johnny Cash σε γεροντική ηλικία και μάλιστα με τρόπο τέτοιο που άλλαξε όλο το νόημα του τραγουδιού. Αναφέρεται πλέον σε χαμό αγαπημένου προσώπου και ίσως με μια τάση αυτοκριτικής... (Πόσο πλήγωσε τους ανθρώπους γύρω του ο ίδιος στη ζωή του).

Το περίεργο με αυτό το τραγουδι είναι ότι μπορεί να ερμηνευτεί με πολλούς διαφορετικούς τρόπους...

θα είναι υπερβολικά λίγο να προσπαθήσει κανείς να εκφράσει με λόγια το μουσικό μεγαλείο ενός συγκροτήματος σαν τους massive attack.

από τον ψηφιοποιημένο ήχο τους έως τον live , από την εκπληκτική μουσική παραγωγή τους , από την σκηνή που όρισαν , ξεσήκωσαν και συνεχίζουν να προσπαθούν να κρατήσουν ψηλά, από την αναγωγή του bristol ως μουσική μητρόπολη του κόσμου για αρκετό διάστημα και από την επιρροή που έχουν ασκήσει σε διάφορα συγκροτήματα και καλλιτέχνες της τελευταίας δεκαετίας , εύκολα βγαίνει το συμπέρασμα ότι μιλούμε για ένα εκ των κορυφαίων συγκροτημάτων των 90s.

η ίδρυση των massive attack έγινε το 1987 από τον robert del naja [3d] , τον grant marshall [daddy g] και τον andrew vowles [dj mashroom] οι οποίοι ήδη συμμετείχαν στην ομάδα dj "the wild bunch".

η επιτυχία του πρώτου τους lp "blue lines" του 1991, έφερε μια σειρά από συνεργασίες με ονόματα όπως αυτά των horace andy και τracy thorn [everything but the girl].

το "protection" του 1994 ήταν το ίδιο εκπληκτικό με το "blue lines" , ενώ ακολούθησε το "mezzanine" του 1998 με την φωνή της εlizabeth frazer να πλαισιώνεται από εξαίσια και σαφώς πιο "σκοτεινή" μουσική.

kάτοχοι του label μelankolic από το 1997 , το οποίο στοχεύει να αποτελέσει προπύργιο του trip hop ήχου του bristol , φιλοξενώντας στις τάξεις του ονόματα-συνεχιστές όπως αυτά των alpha , craig armstrong και day one.

θα ήταν παράλειψη να μην συμπεριληφθεί στην αναφορά γι'αυτούς το φοβερό άλμπουμ του 1995 "no protection" με remixes του τhe mad professor πάνω σε κομμάτια του "protection".

να τονιστεί ακόμη η συμμετοχή τους στα soundtracks ταινιών όπως batman , stigmata , jackal και άλλα.

ο dj mashroom διαφωνόντας με την όλη δομή του "mezzanine" εγκατέλειψε τους massive attack το 1998 κάτι που είχε προ καιρού κάνει ο tricky για να ακολουθήσει solo καριέρα.

το trip hop στην έμπνευση και στις συνθέσεις των massive attack , έγινε μουσικό είδος.

η καλύτερη σύζευξη μεταξύ hip hop , reggae , soul και ποπ μελωδιών σε όλη την σύγχρονη μουσική ιστορία.
